The Chanbasa Village

Introduction

The name of our village is "CHANBASA GAON". It is situated about 3 kms distance from the Nazira Town. In east side the Dikho River. In west side the GarAli Village & BheborChook Village. In north side the Nazira Town. In south side the Sundor Pukhuri & Baulimoidam Village. The Naga Ali is flows from Nazira Town to Bihubor Siloni among the Village. Its joins to Naga Pahar.

History

 Many years ago a man was lived at Chanbasa named “Narod Khonikar Saikia” along with some members. They comes from “Khenglung Rupuk ( Saikia ) dinesty”. “Narod Khonikar” was a kind and well Maker. At time of king Siba Singha “Narod Khonikar” built a Gold Kolocy and established on the Sibodol at Sivsagar about in 1780 to 1795.The king Sibasingha satisfied on his duty and gave him a title named Saikia. So Narod Khonikar famous called “Narod Khonikar Saikia.” On the other hand the king directed him to established choose some high tittle family on his living place. Then “Narod Khonikar Saikia” selected some high tittle family named Saikia,Boruah & Konwar family members and established named “Chanbasa village”. The village is famous from that time. “Narod Khonikar Saikia” died at Chanbasa village and barried at the middle point of village. It is called probably “Narod Khonikar Moidam”.

Economics

Many people of Chanbasa village, dependent on agriculture. There is a large plot of land field, side of the village named “Bheborchook Pather”. There are about 128 (one hundred twenty eight) permanent Cost. Employee in the village and also business man. On the other hand the vegetables and dairy milk product in the village and supplied to another place. In addition to this some women “self unit” in the village. There is one high school and M.E School establish in the village.

There are 1200 ( Twelve hundred) population in the village. Male 672 members and Female 528 members. Education, qualification percentage is 68%.
Moreover this village is advance in cultural side like Theaters produture Sri Biman Konwar, Dhulor Uga Sri Dhiren Konwar and Singer Sri Proshad Saikia (Anonta)etc.
